In mid-September, AT&T and FirstNet offered a behind-the-scenes look at the FirstNet Innovation & Test Lab, giving attendees a look at the latest high-tech devices helping first responders save lives. This included a tour the of the lab, meeting with FirstNet leadership and AT&T’s FirstNet team, demos of devices and apps, learning about the app ecosystem, seeing latest connectivity solutions and learning about the role of the nation’s only FirstNet Lab based here in Colorado.
Some of that technology included:
Vapor 55 helicopter drone technology.
Virtual reality and apps.
Temporary satellite cell site use for natural disasters.
Demos of Guaranteed priority frequencies for first responders on iPhones and rugged.
About the FirstNet Innovation & Test Lab: Located at FirstNet’s technical headquarters in Boulder, Colorado, the FirstNet Lab is a state of-the-art laboratory in which the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), and AT&T will test public safety functionality and features unique to FirstNet’s mission-critical broadband network, including quality of service; priority; pre-emption; and other future mission-critical services and applications.
